Oysy sushi rocks

I’ve blogged about Oysy Sushi on my personal site a few times, but new site means new platform to rave.
Was in the Northbrook location this evening, and it just reminded me that not all sushi is created equal. These guys major in white tuna — and that stuff is rich. Both downtown and Northbrook locations focus on artistic platings, creative combinations, and easy sharing. And Northbrook, at least, appears to have adjusted its prices downward to be more in line with the ‘hood.
The lunch specials downtown are reasonably priced and quite generous. And they have plenty of non-sushi entrees, so you can even bring those stuck up anti-sushi friends of yours…
I know there are literally dozens of great sushi places around the Chicago area these days, and I’ve tried a lot of them. Oysy is definitely near the top of the list.

Ya, Oysy totally rocks. Their green tea and miso make me salivate just thinking about them. I just wish they had more flexible hours. I have been known to ditch my Semiotics class at the break just to get down there before their lunch hours ended.

I agree – the downtown location has very unconvenient hours (I have attempted to go in the afternoon several times only to find out they were closed until dinner).
But it is absolutely worth looking up when they are open (I finally checked out their website to get their hours). The food is awesome, and their lunch special is very nicely priced, too. $12 bucks for a big plate of tasty goodness.
