Get your pumpkin on

pumpkin.jpgWe went up to Didier Farm in Prairie View yesterday to pick out our pumpkins for this year, fully knowing that they will be smashed by punk-ass kids before Halloween even gets here. The farm is awesome and has a huge variety of pumpkins to choose from. Big Pumpkins, small pumpkins, albino pumpkins, striped pumpkins, pumpkins that look like someone sat on them. Brianne got a pumpkin that looks just like a butt.

There is also a farmstand inside where you can buy fresh cider and pumpkin donuts, apples and other fresh fruits & veggies, and homemade cider (among about 500000000 other items). There are rides and a pig barn with little wee baby pigs as well as a costume shop. It is crawling with families, and gets packed quick, especially on a Sunday. You might have to wrestle a soccer mom for a Radio Flyer wagon if is especially packed. Or, if you are a smart one, you will troll the parking lot and stalk people who are leaving.

I highly recommend the chocolate dipped pretzels from the shop. They have been dipped 300 times and have a super thick chocolate coating. Also, make sure to buy some hot cider from the food stand for when you are walking around in the cold. It is so fresh and good I almost went into sugar shock. But watch out for the bees. They want your cider bad.
