Vote! – I done voted!

Fuzzy voted

It took Erica and I less than 15 minutes each to vote up in Uptown/Edgewater (which was a little odd given that my polling place is a block away from the site of a packed Obama Get Out the Vote rally on Friday). I think next election I want to take the day off and be an election judge and hang out with all the retired teachers all day.

At Erica’s polling place there were 10 people lined up outside in the drizzling rain, which was heartening in a mini-“look what people will endure to vote” kinda way. (I realize it’s no 5-hour-wait-in-Florida, but it was still nice.)

And in the elevator coming into work I was told that down in Lakeview there was a line 2 blocks long for the voting, full of “young people” (though this coworker is 65, so that may mean a bunch of 35-year olds).
