Yet Another Stupid Voting Story
Though mine is unfortunately pretty boring. I live in Humboldt Park (a heavily Hispanic area), voted on my way to work at approximately 8:45AM at the Christian Fellowship (2435 West Division). No lines, no waiting, no drama.
All of the election judges were nice and in jovial spirits, both Democrat and Republican. I asked them if there had been any problems and they told me that the only issues had been with people having problems voting for judges. Most of the ballots were being kicked back for over or under voting. I was at the bus stop in front of Clemente High School by 9:08, happy at having once again discharged my civic duty.
As far as Republicans being denied the right to vote in Chicago, well all I can say is that was not the case where I voted. The people who handled the polls in my district were overly helpful to the people who did not have their voter registration cards or photo id and they were helpful in several languages to boot.
