Rand McNally = Chicago Hip

Today, I heard a radio ad for the new Rand McNally Chicago Street Guide. The ad features an announcer standing at an intersection in the city (I don’t recall exactly which one), talking to a tow-truck driver who, through the course of the commercial, is described as a pirate. This has to be a reference to the Steve Goodman song “Lincoln Park Pirates”. I thought it was cool, as it’s a kinda-inside nod to something Chicago.

It was Lincoln & Armitage, and yeah, it feels kind of nice to know some big company went out a little out fo their way to name an actual place in Chicago.

    Cheers
