Pixies by Numbers

If you don’t have tickets to the slew of Pixies shows through Wednesday, you are SO BUMMED.

Number of songs played: 28
Number of encore songs: 2
Number of times “Wave of Mutilation” was played: 2 (anyone know why?)
Number of minutes spent trying to find parking: 30
Number of bills required to get beer: 6
Number of beers purchased by me: 0 ($6 blows)
Number of sweater vests worn by members of the band: 1
Number of times I caught myself thinking Kim Deal is the coolest human in the history of time; 5,000,000
Number of times the drummer caught a drumstick thrown from the other side of the stage and continued playing with it fluidly without missing a beat: 1
Number of times you will kick yourself for not going: all of the seconds until the end of time

So if you haven’t gotten tickets yet, I highly suggest asking around or checking out craigslist. It was an awesomely amazing show. And take a cab or a bus, because parking is a bitch.

hellz yea, i believe it was song #25 and it totally fucking rocked. They seemed to pay careful attention to not missing any of the songs that people really wanted to hear. It was a totally awesome and well rounded set.

why wave o’ mutilation twice? well that’d be becasue there are two versions of the tune…the fast one off Doolittle and the slow “UK Surf” version.

i can’t wait to see ’em for myself tomorrow to make up for the fact that si fell asleep at their show last time i saw them in chicago…in the eighties…
