Help! Help! I’m being repressed!
Post-election political leaning backlash is starting to come into focus, and people are acting like psychos. Sarah Becan, a local comic artist, had her work returned to her by a local printer who refused to print her work because of the subject matter. The specific comic in question is from her series of “Ouija” comics in which she illustrates discussions with member of the afterlife. “Chip” contains references to Allah and homosexuality which the printer refused to reproduce from a moral standpoint.
I fully understand that her right to make comics like this is protected by the same laws that allow the printer to refuse service to her. It was just a startling realization of how people’s strong moral values are pitting them up against each other. Should we start getting concerned?
