The CTA has outfitted their entire bus fleet with bike racks, and all el lines allow two bikes per car (with the exception of Blue Line cars with the four-panel doors) except during rush hour. Now, bike enthusiasts are trying to get Metra to share the bikelove too.

Considering everybody that takes Metra to Ravinia with sixteen lawn chairs, three coolers, and a baby stroller larger than my car, I think this should be an obvious yes for the RTA. Illinois Lt. Governor Pat Quinn’s evidently agrees, as he’s got a “Bikes on Metra” petition set up for all you activist cyclistas out there.
