Outspoken at the Newberry wrapping up.

Now more than ever it’s important for us to remember/relearn/learn the importance of America’s free speech activism tradition. Fortunately for us here in Chicago, a lot of that history played out right here in our backyard.

Saturday is the last day of the Outspoken exhibit at the Newberry Library.

If you can’t make it out they have a small but interesting “virtual exhibit” as well. (Click on the images for a great timeline and pics of really cool zines and handbills from the early 20th century.)

More info on the Newberry site.

The last panel is on Saturday morning at 10AM. The panels, so far, have been totally amazing.
