Backpedal Faster!

So the story goes a little like this:

American Girl doll Marisol Luna hails from my fair ‘hood of Pilsen. Her mother, thinking the area “dangerous” informs the family that Pilsen is “no place to grow up”. She then uproots her family to relocate them to a much safer Des Plaines.

The American Girl company is explaining that their intent was to illustrate how “dangerous the street traffic is” in Pilsen, and they were not inferring in any way that it was a cultural issue.

Uh huh.

I hate these freakin’ dolls. They are overpriced pieces of crap and they are status symbols among little girls. They make me want to puke.

I happen to love American Girl Dolls. If you don’t like Marisol, don’t freaking buy her! Ignore it. You guys have too much time on your hands. If you want one inexpensive buy one on ebay for 40$-90$. Marisol’s value will double in a couple of years.
