Taxis here, taxis there, taxis everywhere

Yeah, the fare hike sucks. You want to be mad. You know it. But this is the first fare hike in 5 years, and gas prices have more than doubled in that time. So ponying up a couple more bucks is worth it.

The good news is, finding a cab just got a hell of a lot easier thanks to Google. I realize that posting about Google may be a conflict of interest, but I still haven’t read through the new authors contract so I will post it anyway…

Google Ride Finder allows you to “find a taxi, limousine or shuttle using real time position of vehicles”. Chicago is one of 11 cities that currently have the hookup. A grat way to find out if you should call ahead, or just take your chances and head out to hail.
