More props for citywide Wi-Fi

The day that there is blanket wide city wireless is the day I permanently move my office into a nice park under a tree. And I have no doubt that the rest of the company I work for would come along. We have already contemplated putting a wireless repeater on the roof so we could work from the park a block away.

So to hear someone serve up some serious fact-checking on why municipal broadband is good is music to my ears. James Carlini at ePrairie puts the smackdown on the dated practices of Illinois telecom giants in his article “Despite Research, Municipal Broadband Emerging as Beneficial“. You can checkout some of his reference arsenal at Free Press. Looks like Illinois policymakers have some edumacating to do.
