Google Maps + Crime = More reason to freak out.
Is there anything Google Maps can’t do? Not only can I see all there is to see and find a cab, now I can get all the crime information I have never wanted to know through ChicagoCrime.org. Don’t get me wrong, knowing about crime rates is half the battle, but is still always disheartening to see this a block from your house.
Awesome! Handguns!
The searching capabilities are endless and the site is amazingly well structured. I had to research crime rates when my family bought an income property 3 flat and all the resources I found were either highly diluted or very very inconclusive. So this is a great tool for finding information on a neighborhood… or just as a great list of reasons to never leave the house.
Logan square is District 14 if anyone is looking for it. It took me a while to figure that out.
The 14th district’s web page.
I’ve had so much fun playing with this since yesterday. The block expansion option has lots of “wow factor”.
Holy crap!
