Bike Riding
My girlfriend and I just moved to Chicago two months ago, and we have already amassed more than $300 in parking tickets for both of our cars. Last weekend I decided that I didn’t want to give the city any more of my (not-so) hard earned money, so my car is permanently going to live at my parents
The distance really isn’t that bad, you should really try it. Both Sarah (our resident comix girlie) and I ride our bikes to work up on Peterson (me from Belmont and Sarah from Irving Park) and don’t even die ever.
It sure as hell beats driving.
it’s true, i haven’t died even once!
of course, today could be the day. you never know.
oh, but yeah. the lawrence to randolph ride would be much longer, and you’d prolly get sweaty if you were to do it in this heat. but the bike station there has SHOWERS for you, becoz they know that you might get sweaty, and they care just that much about you.
I ride the 7.25 miles from Hollywood to Erie most days and I rarely die. I do sweat, but not enough to actually die. Usually.
You do, however, need to learn how shift out of first gear. (Ha – take that, Telfer!)
Damnit Fuzzy!
I just bought a bike and rode it from Thorndale to Huron in first gear. And I’m a “sweater”.
That’s right, wussies.
Fuzzy sucks.
One of the problems with my bike is that the gear cable to the back tire has been cut. And it is stuck in first gear. Ugh.
Can’t wait for the day when I get to bike to work.
