The friendly, wi-fi skies

Wireless internet access in the air? This might be the greatest thing to happen to airplanes since miniaturized bottles of booze.

United has signed up with Verizon to offer the service, and the plan was approved by the FAA today. Maybe the estimated $29.99 service charge will help bolster them out of bankruptcy.

Not really the greatest…an airplane used to be (soon) the last place I had an excuse for going “incommunicado”.
