Graffiti Blasters save the day

I am all for street art, but I am not usually too thrilled about stupid & territorial tagging. Especially when it shows up on my garage door like it did last year. We just went ahead and painted over it, not knowing that Graffiti Blasters take care of private property as well.

The office that I work at is right down the street from a high school, so we get tagged all over the place (and are also suspicious convinced that kids smoke pot & make out on the side of our garage). Sarah and I took the initiative to photograph this totally awesome piece of work a couple weeks ago, and it was cleaned up today by Graffiti Blasters.

They just showed up. It was amazing. We don’t have crap all over the garage and dumpster and door anymore! Unfortunately, we may never understand why pre-release / in-development garden implements “rekanize”. When Graffiti Blasters started in 1993, Chicago was the only major city to pay for repairing private property damaged by graffiti out of its own pocket. You gotta give Daley credit; it’s a brilliantly simple and effective plan. You can report the need for a good graffiti blasting by calling 311.
