Bank Who?

A few months back, Bank One was bought by Chase Bank. This didn’t upset me very much; I took it like a true American – lying down. Life is too short to get pissed off about someone handing over all my money and financial information to someone else whom I never had the opportunity to get to know and build a trust, right? Actually, now that I see that written down…

Anyway, about a year ago they started warning me about the impending change, so I could steel myself up for the day when my statement was sent to me by some stranger I guess, or maybe they wanted me to throw a party. I was pretty sure the day came and went. I mean, the statements changed. The website, * now awkwardly says “Chase” on it. So why am I still getting promotional junk mail from Bank One?

I mean, I don’t care; I’m just confused. I’m also too lazy to do any research on it, so, you know…

* Type it in yourself. I’m not linking to a friggin corporate bank.

I work for Chase *sigh* Each state is undergoing the switch from B1 to Chase on a particular schedule. Illinois is set to switch in October.

The merger wasn’t official until July 1 last year, so they couldn’t make any changes until after that. They also have to deal with banking officials in each state prior to making the change. Forms have to be signed, i’s dotted and t’s crossed and all that.

july 1 of LAST YEAR? jesus christ they’ve had an entire year! not to mention they’ve already sent me letters saying it’s done, and everything from this point forward will be in chase’s name. could they be more flaky? makes me feel comfortable and secure about where my money is…
