What are you doing to beat the heat?

Hot. Oppressively hot. Chicago is too far north for me to be lying around in a big, grumpy, lethargic puddle. Probably the biggest reason for me to move here from Houston was to escape endless days of 100-degree temps.

My girls and I have pretty much moved into the bathhouse across from the Museum of Science and Industry. We have learned to subsist on a diet of Fla-Vor-Ice and hot dogs. Frequent dippings into the somewhat cool, murky lake waters are doing the trick so far, but I fear this program will fail us soon.

I need options people!

Check out the fountains…the Crown at Millenium Park and the Buckingham. Lots of cool, cool water.

What’s going to happen to us when we jump in them?

    i guess we’ll find out on the 5 o’clock news…

you can actually run around in the crown fountain, between the two 50-foot towers that sometimes shoot out water. the water on the ground though isn’t very deep…maybe 1/2″ at most.

how about heading out for some italian ice? that always cools me off.

Find an air-conditioned office to work in…
