You know, for kids!

I was heading out to get some groceries at about 9pm last night, and almost screeched to a stop at the corner of Belmont and Damen. At Fellger Playlot Park (an awesome park for kids in case you have never seen it: water features and a large playing area) they were screening what looked liked Finding Nemo on a large screen. The lot was filled with little ‘uns and their parents enjoying the nice evening weather and a free movie.

Even though there are a whole slew of power struggles and corruption in this city (and all of those links are just from the last month!), they do manange to get quite a few things right. I had a smile on my face for the rest of the night.

That is a great park, I live a couple of blocks away and it’s a great stop on our Roscoe Village walk. The city is a master at the one step forward, two steps back approach.

Yeah, they totally do that stuff for the kids on the south side, too. Oh wait. No they don’t.
