CTA Tattler

The Tribune (and RedEye) reported this morning on a new unofficial service to update CTA riders about service outtages and delays. The CTA Tattler blog has organized a Upoc text-message-group to let CTA riders share information with each other. (If you want to skip Upoc sign-up, CTA Tattler has provided a simpler form.)

The service is very new and very unofficial and we’ll have to see how useful it proves. Right now, the messages range from the specific and helpful “Brown Line is not running between Kimball and Kedzie!” to the not-so-specific “Delay red line fight on train” (to which someone responded “Where on red line and in what direction?” and was never answered).
