Lil’ buddy

leaf insect

Millions of years of evolution to blend into the landscape seamlessly… and you end up in the middle of a downtown sidewalk, sticking out like a sore thumb. (I moved the little guy to a flowerbed.)

    You totally rock!

Thanks for showing some kindness to even the littlest critter.

I saw the same kind of bug on Thursday morning, sitting on a fence finial outside my apartment. I looked at its beady green eyes and watched it wiggle its antennae — it was like something from a nature program. I was surprised at how fat it was.

I was at a little park after running and I was looking at the plants.

A big flying bug was getting nectar from a flower and a much littler bug was hovering behind a leaf so the big bug couldn’t see him. The big bug loaded up with nectar (you could see the drop of nectar) and then the little bug swooped in and swiped it!! Awesome! The big bug was SOOOOO pissed off! He flew around wildly for about 20 seconds, looking for anything to sting!
