Got an extra ticket?

Sleater-Kinney is playing a Katrina benefit show at Metro tonight and this boy finds himself without a ticket (it’s sold out). Anyone have any extras they’d like to get rid of? I’m talking face value here, people (we can’t very well go around promoting illegal activity now, can we?). But, I’ll buy a beer to anyone who helps me out. And if you’re not going to the show? I’ll buy you a beer at Raw Bar next door.

If you can’t get in you can always go to the free Queens Of The Stone Age show at the Belmont Army Surplus store tonight.

    Excellent idea. Thanks, Tank.

Hmmm….if QOTSA are in town…that means so is NIN…and so is Autolux, for their show at the Allstate. Anyone know if Autolux is making a surprise appearance anywhere else?

I’ve got an extra ticket for S-K. It’s yours at face (plus the beer), if you still want it. Email me at twopennykid@yahoo.com

Tank, has Belmont Army Navy closed or moved or is this just a special event?

It is closed…bought out by the CTA. It suffered the same fate as Bottom Lounge…

That fucking SUCKS! Are they gonna reopen in a new location or is it curtains?

The sale BAN is having is aptly named “Screwed by the CTA Sale”. I think they’re moving, not shutting down, but I’m not sure.

Ah, the power of the internet. One of our good readers, Mark, has offered to sell me a ticket to tonight’s show. Much appreciated, Mark.

Just wanted to bring this full circle by saying thanks again to our reader Mark, who stepped in during my time of need and sold me a ticket to the show last night. And it rocked. What a tight group. They sounded fantastic, better than I ever expected (and my expectations were very high). One of the better shows I’ve seen in quite a while. Now I can check them off of my bands-to-see list.
