Congrats to the Sox

Congrats to the Sox, who last night advanced to the American League Championship Series by sweeping last year’s champions, the Boston Red Sox, 3-0. It was a close game, the highlight being Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez coming on in relief in the bottom of the 6th with the bags loaded and no outs, only to escape the inning unharmed, leaving the Red Sox wondering what the hell just happened. From then on, it was the Sox’s game to win. And win they did. They sure did prove me wrong…a couple of weeks ago I was sure they were going to collapse.

Next up for the Pale Hose? The winner of the Yankees/Angels series. No matter who the Sox face next, the ALCS will begin next Tuesday at Comiskey, er, I mean, The Cell. This Cub fan will be watching and hoping that the Sox can bring a World Series Championship back to Chicago. It’s been long enough. I don’t care if it’s the Cubs or the Sox, just make Chicago a champion, for christ sakes! Maybe the Sox can pull it off this year, and my Cubs can bring it home next year. Imagine that…2 World Series Champs, back to back, from Chicago….one can dream.
