(Rice) Packer Sunday

Yesterday was family volunteer day at the Greater Chicago Food Depository on the city’s southwest side.

Our crew was charged with scooping instant rice into two pound bags, twisty-tying them, labeling them, and putting them in a giant bin.

My back ached a bit this morning, but less meaningful Sunday afternoons I’ve certainly had.
