I need a dentist who doesn’t suck.

I’m sitting here with a gaping hole in my left jaw where my $1,600.00 crown used to be. Yup, $1600. $800 from me, $800 from the insurance company. All for a tiny piece of porcelain smaller than a snowpea that only stayed in my mouth for all of 3 months. Yay dentistry.

So Chicago, I have a couple of questions.

a) Can they just put this thing back in? Because if they won’t, I have two tubes of all-purpose epoxy that will.
b) Does ANYONE have a GOOD dentist who isn’t a moron, an egomaniac, a sadist, or just obscenely greedy? Please?

I have a dentist that I *love*… he does very good work and never tries to “upsell” procedures that are unnecessary. He’s slightly on the pricey side, but nothing obscene, and well worth every penny. E-mail me and I’ll give you contact info.

I just went to this dentist for the first time today and she’s absolutely wonderful. She saved me some money and was very willing to educate me on what she was doing and why. I HATE dentists and she was very cool about this and made me more comforatable than i had ever been with a dentist. Check her out….

I had terrible dentist phobias as a kid, and I had to find a dentist that I really, really trusted. I started going to this dentist when I was twelve, I still go to him. He’s awesome – but he’s in Joliet. Good luck!

Back in the day when I had health insurance, I had a dentist that was AWESOME. He never did work unless it was absolutely necessary for the health of my mouth – unlike most dentists that will fill any tiny shadow that *might* eventually turn into a cavity. Check him out.

Great dentists, and this is coming from someone who hated and feared dentists for the longest time. I’m paying for it now, but they take excellent care of you and really make it as comfortable as possible.
