“24” Open Thread
Yes, it’s a slow news day in Blogtown. It’s also Monday. And if you think you’re having a bad day, trust me, it pales in comparison with Jack Bauer’s.
In anticipation of tonight’s episode of “24,” check out this Slate.com interview with “24” writer/producer Michael Loceff.
Any predictions as to what we’ll see tonight? Who will get killed? And how? Is tonight the night that Kim “Jiggles” Bauer will make her triumphant return? Will Edgar completely lose it, finally launching into a spittle-soaked tirade about being the token ugly CTU agent, and that, by rights, he should be the one forced to take one for the team and sleep with Chloe? Will Spenser realize he walked onto the wrong set and return to “Will and Grace?” Will Tony pull through, only to be shot/blown up again this week? When did this show turn into more soap opera than action drama? I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be watching “24.” They better wow me tonight.
I’m hoping to be pleasantly surprised by 24 tonight. Killing David Palmer within the first 10 minutes of the season opener has GOT to mean that they will be willing to take some risks this season.
Some of what made Season 4 great was the soap opera action: Jack letting Paul Raines die on the operating table in front of his estranged wife and Jack’s current girlfriend…etc…
And yes, I also enjoyed a Kim Bauer-less Season 4. Do you think any mountain lions or bears will be chasing her this year? Only time will tell…
I’m gonna drop a cougar on you!
Not a bad episode overall.
Lauren found this: a “JackTracker”
