The Passion of Kanye

Kanye West is profiled in the latest edition of Rolling Stone in an article called “The Passion of Kanye West,” a play on Kanye’s legendary ego:

“In America, they want you to accomplish these great feats, to pull off these David Copperfield-type stunts,” West says. “But let someone ask you about what you’re doing, and if you turn around and say, ‘It’s great,’ then people are like, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ You want me to be great, but you don’t ever want me to say I’m great?”

C’mon Dave! You gotta post the picture!

As an aside, I was watching some news coverage and they were showing footage from the photo shoot. The funniest part was when Kanye Christ steps aside- crown of thorns still in place- to field phone calls on his cell. I wish I had a Tivo so I could freeze frame it and take a picture- it was priceless.

    Another thought:

I think Kanye misjudged America’s collective “shockability” here- I mean, really, does he think this photo will shock mainstream America? I don’t think so. If he really wants to be a provacateur, he needs to try harder. Kanye in whiteface, dressed as George Bush, for example, would have REALLY pissed people off, and would have been more timely. That, or Kanye, dressed as a pimp, posing with Barbara and Jenna Bush lookalikes dressed as ho’s. Now THAT would have been a photo!

Kanye-yo, I have lots more ideas. Holla at ya boy nikkos!
