Chicago Rapper Rhymefest on iTunes: Free Single of the Week

rhymefest.jpg

Per iTunes:
“Rhymfest is one of Chicago’s most respected hip-hoppers and a veteran of the freestyle battle scene. The story goes that Rhymefest was one of the first people to take down the young Eminem as he was coming up in the battle crowd. These days, people know Rhymefest from his work on Kanye West’s “Jesus Walks”- a track he co-wrote and performed on. Our free single of the week, “Dynomite” comes from his upcoming album, Blue Collar.”

iTunes, understandably, sidesteps some of the controversy surrounding “Jesus Walks,” and I won’t rehash it here since it’s “inside baseball” crap of the highest order. Suffice it to say many heads were circulating a petition online to deny Kanye a Grammy last year based on allegations that he didn;t properly credit Rhymefest, etc.

Downloading it now…show some love to Chicago music and enjoy!
