Impeach Bush
A resolution to impeach George Bush by the Illinois state legislature states that Bush has “willfully violated his oath of office” by manipulating intelligence to start the war in Iraq, leaking classified national secrets and authorizing illegal spying on American citizens (see report in the Sun-Times today).
It may mean nothing now in a Republican-controlled Congress but I suspect you will see more and more of these types of resolutions passing throughout the country in the coming months. It will all be meaningless if the Democrats cannot win back control, but with only 33% of Americans now approving of this president and his failed leadership, anything can happen by November. You know, I thought Bush would be a bad president way back in 2000, but I never thought he’d be this bad.
I feel your pain, buddy. But is this a Chicago blog, or a liberal airhead blog? How about a BJ?
Chicago Metblogs likes to include the rest of the state of Illinois in its posts (be it Bedford Park or Springfield) and so the fact that this a resolution proposed by the Illinois state legislature deems it worthy of note. The Chicago Sun-Times included this story in its Metro section, and while we’re at it, they also have a fine editorial about the “secrecy-obsessed White House” that I would recommend reading:

Thanks for your comments, Bill, nice to know you are feeling my pain.
Burn the Witch, Impeach the Prez, I’m for it all!
