World Series of Pop Culture
Team Smartypants: Lauren, CP, Brianne
Who do I root for in the World Series of Pop Culture? Metroblog’s own Lauren‘s team (featuring Metroblog’s former-own CP) — Team Smartypants? Or improv and kickball dynamo (and my friend) Amber Tillet’s Cheetara? Or that other team from Chicago composed of three guys I don’t know? OK, not them.
The show starts tonight at 9 pm on VH1. Smartypants vs. Cheetara tomorrow night, same time.
Redeye: Diary of a VH1 reality star by Amber Tillett
Get out?!? That rocks. Kick ass guys.
Um, you root for Smartypants. Duh.
The guys are “Men of Vision” and they are freaking hilarious. To be fair, all of the Chicago teams are awesome. We had a reunion BBQ with the other teams yesterday to celebrate the show airing, and my cheek muscles still hurt. Funny bunch. Make sure to tune in tuesday night to watch Amber and I curtsy to each other, at the same moment, totally unplanned. I can’t reveal much, but I can say that the Cheetara/Smartypants face-off was VERY entertaining.
Best of luck!
NUH UH!!!!
Oh man. SO Ti-VoING IT!
They kept showing CP in the commercials today. He must have been very animated. I can’t wait to see the show! This is as much fun as when my girfriend Beth was on What Not to Wear… except you guys are dressed much better. And stuff.
So, I missed your episode? Cheetara knocked you out? That sucks. I saw part of Sexual Chocolate losing to Peanut Butter & Ginelli last night. I could’ve answered that shit. Why didn’t they have auditions in Austin? Damn.
OK… now WHO had the right connections to get on the show? I took part in the Chicago auditions, and my team, Pop Culture Club, breezed right through the 50-question written test.
I guess intelligence really didn’t matter in the end, because the three of us, after watching the shows so far, would have beaten every team expect Almost Perfect Strangers.
It’s not what you know, it’s apparently how eccentric you’ve got to be to get on the show first.
Welcome to show business baby!
Sure, if you totally discount the effect of actually standing there on the stage answering questions. The power of deduction goes straight out the window.
Also, keep in mind that you are relying on one specific person to know the answer, not the combination of 3 minds.
It is a wildly different experience from the one you have on your couch. I don’t really think our team was eccentric as the three of us are pretty shy and awkward in front of crowds, but I think we fit the bill of the audience VH1 wants to market to. That might have worked to our advantage, but I wouldn’t discount our intelligence. After all, we passed the same test you did.
