Damn the High Speed Man

We here at Metroblogging Chicago really really really dislike SBC and Comcast. So when BoingBoing posted a link this morning to a way to screw the both of them simultaneously for free service, I was totally intruiged. It looks like quite a bit of work, but hey… it’ll save you money!

That does sound like a lot of work. We’ve used SBC DSL for the past 3 years. Signed up for a deal of $20/month…each time our year ends, we ask to be renewed at the $20 rate. They comply with no problems whatsoever.

I’ve also been paying just over $20 per month. It basically takes just one call per year if that to keep the rate. Seems fair to me for getting fast music downloads and other things I might care to look at :)

    Just fyi-

Since I’m moving next week I just got off the phone with SBCATTMECCAZILLA. They have a deal right now for $14.95/month for DSL. It’s $12.95/month for new subscribers.

    Over and out.

Wow, that’s awesome. I’ve been getting screwed by Comcast!

I’ve had pretty much the same experience as Steven. I simply ask to be renewed at my current rate. The operator hems and haws for a bit, then does it.
