Summer Over? Not So Fast.
Word on the street, somewhere in Bucktown/Wicker Park.
While Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer, fret not- there’s LOTS to do this weekend around the city, from Around the Coyote to the Hideout Block Party, the German-American Drinking Festival in Logan Square, why, there’s even a performance called “Kama Sutra: The Musical,” which I imagine features a lot of wah-wah guitar. Also, word on the street is that a sports contest of some type, involving highly stylized and ritualized combat enacted by hormone-strengthened mutant men wearing tights will also commence this evening, with follow-up matches scheduled for Sunday.
Anyways, how do you plan on spending the weekend?
I know that I am looking forward to chilling out- the month of August was a complete blur – what with 2 camping trips and other adventures both local and regional- and I am actually looking forward to the return of some semblance of routine as summer slips into fall.
