Chicago Underground Comedy

Paul Thomas

Last night we (me, my wife, and my camera) got out for one of our all-too-rare visits to Chicago Underground Comedy. Every Tuesday at Gunther Murphy’s (1638 W Belmont) you can see 5 or 6 up-and-coming comedians strut their stuff for just $5 (and no stupid drink-minimums).

It’s an entertaining evening — not every joke hits the mark, of course, but there’s no hackery on display — you really get the feeling that the performers are all trying to present an original voice. And Jared Logan is just made of funny.

Disclosureville: I’ve performed with half of these guys in other shows.

That’s got to be a picture of Tyler Kroll’s doppleganger.
