Bulls Open Big

I happened to be in a home that had cable television last night and ended up watching the opening night of the Bulls NBA season. Impressive! I don’t think I have watched an entire Bulls game from start to finish since Michael Jordan hit that last shot against Utah in 1998 or whenever. Well, let me say, the team looked damn good, beating the defending champion Miami Heat by 42 points and reducing Shaq O’Neal to a non-factor. Isn’t that guy a cop now, or what?

I noticed that many pre-season predictions placed the Bulls near the top this season and I can see why after watching them in action. I probably won’t be following them as closely as I did in the Jordan days, but I am intrigued enough to catch them on non-cable channel WGN-9 when their games are aired. I am pulling for new guy Ben Wallace to let his hair out and play big, the corn rows seem a little conservative to me. Do it!

They looked great last night and Miami didn’t even looked like they cared. I’m not a huge NBA fan, but the Bulls look like they can go a long way this year. It will be interesting to see which players wind up being the team leaders. It may even be a player that didn’t start last night.
