Mortifying Events

The creators of Mortified have come out with a book: Mortified: Real Words Real People Real Pathetic. It’s a collection of the most embarrassing, humiliating, and horrifying childhood writings from real people. Remember that childhood diary you wrote (still write?) in? How about a cheesy love song you wrote? Violent diatribes disparaging your parents? Yep, it’s all there.

Meet the creator of Mortified, Dave Nadelberg, and listen to some excerpts from the book tonight at 7:30PM, in the Borders at 2817 North Clark Street. Not only is Dave a nice guy, but he has some pretty embarrassing childhood stories to tell as well.

If that’s not enough angst for one night, be sure to check out Mortified Chicago, in its second show at the Green Mill tomorrow night. I’ve talked about the show when it first came to town, and what I saw could possibly be the funniest thing I have ever seen on stage. Show starts at 8PM, and tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Be sure to get there early, as seating fills up pretty fast.
