The Original State Street

State Street Snacks Caramel Corn

Driving out of Starkville, Mississippi (Go Dawgs!) a few days ago I stopped at a gas station to fill up the car and grab some snacks for the road. And there it was, a little taste of home: The Original State Street 1893 Chicago Caramel Corn. Manufactured by State Street Snacks in… Lexington, South Carolina. With that most Chicago of nuts, the Pecan, from Wade Plantation in Georgia.

I’m not sure why I really was expecting authenticity from my snack foods, but I was also somewhat impressed that the 1893 World’s Fair is still being used for branding.
