nods to The Empty Bottle has come out with a list of their 10 Best Rock Clubs and Chicago’s The Empty Bottle makes the cut. Given their criteria of supporting local music, bringing in “adventurous lineups”, and the chance to see emerging talents, I’d say the Bottle was a pretty good choice.

Tim in Austin is similarly sanguine about the choice of Emo’s.

I would have to disagree and say Empty Bottle has been in decline for at least the last five years, while other joints (SubT, Schuba’s, Hideout, Double Door) have all been doing a much better job when it comes to consistently booking good shows.

I like the Bottle, though I’d hope there were better places around the country with better sound, sight lines and all around better layout of the space. They book some good acts, but you’d better act fast to get tickets to the better ones.

Emo’s is awesome, and I’m not just saying that because I love Austin. Two stages and plenty of room to move around. The outside stage area is half outside, so it’s perfect just about anytime! And you’ve got your Shiner Bock as well!

I totally agree with you on Emo’s.
