Dave Eggers Does It Again

I’m a big fan of author Dave Eggers. Not just because of his writing, which is pretty neat, but also because of what he does to build communities. In addition to creating McSweeny’s, he founded 826Chi. It’s a cool organization. It’s a free writing center for kids 6-18. How great is that? The Wicker Park location isn’t the only one: he’s spreading the love of reading and writing throughout the country. If you don’t have time to volunteer, then donate.Brad Flora gave us the skinny on the new Eggers adventure that’s happening over in Wicker Park. It’s called The Boring Store. 826Chi is behind this storefront spy store. Yeah huh, I said spy store. Brad’s got a full photo tour. It’s pretty awesome. If you pop by The Boring Store, located at 1331 N. Milwaukee, be sure to pick up the student writing in addition to the must-have mustache wallet. Thanks, Brad!
