Tomorrow
Adult Cicada With Wing

So we’ve mentioned the 17-year Cicadas here and here but according to the news, tomorrow is the day they little buggers start making lots of noise. Last time, I remember that they were mostly gone by July–and that better hold true for this year. Otherwise, the Decemberists show is going to suck.

Personally, I can’t help but remember what was going on the last time we saw them. I was in summer school, taking world history and attending football camp. I thought Tone Loc was a musical genius. This was also the same year my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and my entire family had to cope with some rough circumstances.
Anyone else want to walk down memory lane? Seriously, do it today before its clogged with cicada carcasses.
I’m not minding the chilly weather. Anything that keeps the cicadas in the ground another day or so.
Anyone seen one yet in Chicago?
I haven’t even HEARD one yet. Then again, my suburban field time was eliminated this week.
