Face Value Tickets & Your Chicks For Free

Great news for those who enjoy shows at House of Blues Chicago. In an effort to make shows a bit more affordable, ticket surcharge fees will be waived if purchased at the downtown box office.

Since Live Nation also owns the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park; Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wis., and Charter One Pavilion on Northerly Island, they’ll waive the fees for those shows as well.

I’ve always loved Metro and to a lesser extent the Vic for offering their tickets at face value (screw the Riviera and Aragon for not doing the same). I don’t have a problem with the couple of dollar online surcharge at Empty Bottle, Schubas or the Abbey either.

So is Live Nation just being nice or did they figure out that they’ll fill up their shows a little more without the ten dollar or more surcharges? I think we know the answer to that!
