The Story of the SKALD
The SKALD is a week-long storytelling festival that includes free storytelling workshops for both children and adults, a free panel discussion featuring professional storytellers and historians, a storytelling competition for children between the ages of 8 and 14, and two adult storytelling competitions — one in which stories are improvised and one in which stories are prepared.
In short, it’s a lot of fun.
Not only is the SKALD produced by my theater company in cooperation with the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, but it also features fellow Metblogger Fuzzy Gerdes.

Did I mention it’s a lot of fun? And that it’s right in the Loop?
