I love you, Dan Ryan

I am totally in love with the Dan Ryan Expressway! It’s smooth. It’s fast. It even has some great curves and smells good. I know I’m not the only one as she services thousands a day, but I just can’t shake this feeling! I drove it on Saturday morning and then again on Sunday afternoon. No problems. No slowdowns. Just an easier way to get through the south-side.

The construction is over. Take her for a spin!

Yeah, I agree. I think it’s a pretty successful project.

Now, if they’d fix the Eisenhower!!

I concur. I was on it Friday and Saturday. It’s interesting that it’s all concrete.

Say, what do you think of those little icons on the walls? I’m not a fan, but at least they did something.

I dig the art that’s carved into the cement walls. Have not really had a chance to look at it too closely yet, maybe I’ll have to take a walk on the expressway to get a better look!

Yes it’s fast and smooth, but it’s dirty looking already and it’s unattractive. Notice the fencing at the top near the exits and streets, the area where there should be grass, but it’s all dirt. On other area highways (read between the lines), the bridges and overhead structures are attractive colored brick and in the summer, there’s foliage on the overhead structures that can be seen while driving the highway. The outer walls are cleaner and the medallions or decor is more noticeable and attractive. Some people are never satisfied? So what! I think it could look better.
