New Year’s Eve with The Polkaholics at DANK Haus

small%20polka.JPG

I had heard of both The Polkaholics(Chicago’s punk rock polka band), and DANK Haus(Chicago’s German cultural center). However, I had never actually experienced either of these things. Lucky for me, I got to experience both on New Year’s Eve, and it was awesome.

I only paid $4.99 to get into the Marunde Grand Ballroom on the fifth floor of the DANK Haus which gave me a penny to ride the CTA later. I drank German beers, danced, and made my German ancestors proud. I even took some photos.

If you are sad that you missed The Polkaholics, you’ll have two chances to catch them this January. They will be at The Subterranean on Saturday the fifth raising money for Leukemia Research Foundation. Also, they will be playing at the final destination for Critical Mass at Lincoln Square Lanes on January 25th.

We (the DANK) are SO glad you had a good time! As one of your bartenders that evening, I can say it was another successful fantastic party! Hope to see you again next year!

Thanks. It was a great time, and I’ll definitely look for events like this at DANK in the future.
