Greek mythology on crack. In a good way.

Temptress Aphrodite in a white, skin tight…thingy, gyrating with five madly twirling red hula hoops? Check. Buff, silver paint-sprayed drones furiously banging ginormous drums, Stomp-style? Check. One of the coolest pieces of theater I’ve ever seen? Most definitely. Run to Lookingglass Theater now, and check out Hephaestus: A Greek Mythology Circus Tale before it closes on March 9. You shan’t be disappointed. Lookingglass is a pretty cozy space, yet they manage to deliver stellar circus maneuvers that would make Cirque fans smile, and with no net in sight, you’ll be white-knuckling your seat in the final, death-defying act. Whew.

Seriously, one of the best performances I have ever seen, whether music, theater or performance art. Do NOT miss this.
