Top Chef Chicago: Bye Bye, Good Riddance. (SPOILERS)

I can’t tell you how happy I was to see Erik leave… Considering Frontera and Topolobampo are two of my favorite restaurants in Chicago and that I love Rick Bayless, Erik’s attitude had me hating him from the top of the show. Good editing, Bravo.

Mexican can’t be fine dining? B.S. Topolobampo is a perfect example of how Mexican can be new, exciting, fine dining, all while retaining a sense of tradition and without pretense. Erik just showed no class and I was glad to see him go.

Besides, if you cook corndogs in your restaurant all the time, then you should have known they wouldn’t have traveled well–loser.

Could you please refrain from putting the results of episodes right in the title of the post? Not everyone is able to watch the same show as you immediately, and we try to avoid reading any coverage of it by looking at the title and seeing "Top Chef" and then skipping the post. But when you spoil the whole thing in your title, it screws it up for everyone with a tivo who wasn’t able to watch it last night.

D’oh! My bad… Considering I live and die by my Tivo–I should have known better… I’ve corrected the post. Sorry if I spoiled it for you!!

Dave- next time I recommend putting the spoilers in the "Read more…" section.

Erica and I paused the tivo right after Erik’s little outburst and asked each other if he had really just dissed Rick Bayless and the entire country of Mexico. Boo to that.
