		<description>Oh, I totally agree. This was not so much a run for staples as snacky stuff. Most of the time I go in weekly for veggies, fruits, eggs, cheese, tortillas, and tofu, and can feed myself for a week on about $35.

		<description>I&#039;m not trying to be snarky, but you probably could have stretched that $20 much further if you lightened up on the snacks: cookies, chocolate pretzels (empty calories), sesame sticks, and chocolate peanuts are all overpriced for their volume.  All that stuff cost you almost half your money.  If you eat meat, you could have bought 2 whole chickens with that money and still had money for an onion, garlic, and maybe celery for chicken salad.  If you don&#039;t eat meat you could have had a dozen eggs, and a TON more veggies and still had room for one snack in the budget.

Nice post though, a good observation about how neighborhood markets are usually priced significantly lower than the big chains.</description>
