Marlon Brando, north suburban hoodlum, dies at 80

Marlon Brando died at a hospital in LA of undisclosed reasons last night. He also attended the same high school as me, and his death prompted me to look up and fact check all of the Brando rumors I encountered as a teenager in the north suburbs. I could find no corroborating evidence that he carved his name into one of the towers at Libertyville High School’s Brainerd building, nor that he rode his motorcycle through the gymnasium. I did find that he “was expelled from Libertyville High for chronic misbehavior. His last prank had been pouring hydrosulfate into the blower at school so a rotten-egg smell pervaded the classrooms” according to this except from Amazon.
It’s always great when legends live up to the stories that follow them.

I also graduated from Libertyville High School and heard the same stories. But, I heard that he rode his motorcycle around the pool.
