Subvert the toll hike

Quad City’s Channel 8 has a great article on subverting the tolls and taking alternate routes to save you time. Currently, driving from the Quad Cities to O’Hare will cost you $6.20 in tolls. That is worth 2 Starbucks Grande Mochas!

If you are heading to the north suburbs, you can avoid the Edens spur toll buy continuing up the Edens and then heading west on one of the larger streets. My parents live in the north suburbs and I visit them usually once or twice a month. While the spur saves time, and is fun to drive, I’ll be opting for the Edens to 60 from here on out.

Any other good ways around the new toll increases?
