What’s wrong with this picture?

I haven’t watched ER in about 5 years because it just got too boring and repetitive. But when I saw the trailer for this week’s episode, I was intrigued. So, for the first time since prolly 1999, I watched ER during regular primetime last night.

Now, I know that TV is fictional, and that most of the show isn’t shot in Chicago, but they had a major faux pas last night. At one point during the show, Abby’s kidnappers stop to get food. As they are passing the drinks, I say to myself “I know that cup. That is no Chicago fast food cup. That is an In-n-Out cup!”

I lived in San Diego for a brief, stupid stint, and credit In-n-Out with being one of the only good things to come out of my time there. I crave it about once a month since I have moved back. And the closest location is Nevada. It just seems to me that if ER is trying to replicate the whole Chicago vibe while staying in the Los Angeles area, they could have at least picked a location shot at a restaurant we have out here in the Midwest as well. It’s not like there is a shortage of them.

Way to blow the suspension of disbelief. Now I just want a Double Double™ really bad.

I think White Castle would have been a little more appropriate, don’t you?

as i was telling a friend earlier today, actually — one episode, i believe it was last year, had a doctor referring to a patient transferred from a hospital on the east side.

they’re not only not even trying — i believe that the ER writers are actively taunting us. :)
