I would be offended – if it weren’t true…

A chocolate lounge? That is what will be the concierge desk of my personal heaven.

Not this this will force me to drag my lazy ass down to the Mag Mile, but North Bridge Mall is getting a chocolate lounge starting in July. This is very awesome, but not nearly as awesome as this excerpt from the article…

The chocolate lounge concept stems from the company’s research that showed “women really wanted a place to enjoy chocolate, and sit there and linger,” an Ethel’s spokeswoman told the newspaper.

So true! I don’t think I could count all of the times that I stopped and thought “Gee, I wish I had a place to enjoy chocolate”. Not like I have ever needed a special place to scarf down a Toblerone bar, but whatever. Sure, I’ll humor them.

I think that Marly Chocolates (RIP) in Evanston was replaced by an Ethel’s (Davis St. east of Chicago). Also, you might want to check out the chocolate bar at the Penninsula.

I worked for Ethel’s formerly Ethel M’s failed venture in the Virgin Megastore last summer. Dont get your hopes up. It was a disapointing experience and a disapointing product. Why anyone would pay $1 a piece for chocolate that costs .09 cents to make by M&M Mars is beyond me….. Especially when alot of the product is frozen and then thawed out! Not to mention I have never been involved with a more underhanded and racist establishment. If you enjoy the taste of lies, racism, and second rate product you’ll love Ethel M’s. Now calling itself Ethel’s….. A legacy so tarnished they had to change the name.

Ethel, Haven’t I seen this somewhere before???

Ethel’s Chocolate lounge sounds suspiciously like the famous New York candy store for grown-ups CHOCOLATE BAR. Nice wrapper but I’ve tasted it before….
